Let me first start by saying, I never intend to run an off-road race again.
I hated running on uneven/grassy ground.

I'd like to congratulate Christy on her first 5k!  She did great and finished before me!

A huge Thank You to my cousin Nikki who was so supportive and stayed with me the whole time.  She ran the entire 5k but she ran at my walking pace during the times I was walking!
She's awesome :)


The most fun part about this was dousing my friends with color before-hand.  It was hard, and I probably only ran half, but the good news is, I have tons of room for improvement for the Electric Run in Charlotte next month!

WLS Bullying

Have any of you noticed how much bullying exists among us in the WLS community?  I'm not necessarily referring to those of us in blogland--in fact, I've never felt bullied or anything other than the most support here in my little blog world.  But in other parts of the WLS community I've experienced a lot of "my surgery is better than yours" comments and a lot of size comparison.  It's something that I first experienced when I tried a local WLS meetup.  I was the only person with a lapband at the group and it was then that I decided I would never go back. 25 Things

I'm turning 25 at the end of this week so I wanted to write 25 things I'm thankful I can now do that I couldn't do at this time last year in celebration of another year of life. 1. Buckle an airplane seat belt. 2. Shop in a non plus size section of a store. 3. Snugly squeeze in a size 12 dress!!! 4. Run more than 30 seconds! 5. Go on a blind date without wondering if he's going to think I look fatter than my pictures. 6. Climb the Eiffel Tower!!! 7. Get excited about having my picture taken. 8. Sorry for TMI...but "adult time" is so much more fun! 9. Step on the scale to see a number that begins with 2. 10. Finish a whole Zumba class. 11. "Get low" dancing and get back up. 12. Feel full! 13. Get drunk off of 2 glasses of wine lol. 14. Paint my own toes. (Although I still prefer not to) 16. Burger or salad?

I've been craving a burger. Not just any burger. A CHAR GRILL burger. Char Grill is a local NC burger joint that used to only be in Raleigh, but now there are several other locations in Cary and Chapel Hill.  The one in Chapel Hill is my own personal hell , because it is SOOOO close to my work.  I drive by and smell the lovely scent of grilling....EVERY...SINGLE...DAY. So today I finally went and ordered a Jr. Cheeseburger, no bun. This is what I got:   A cheeseburger?  Or a salad? Anyway, I was slightly amused by how much lettuce is "on" my burger. Coincidentally, I know my taste buds have changed...because this was not as delicious as I imagined it would be.
