You are a beautiful young woman, both before and after. But the "after" really shows your happiness and hard work. http://thelapbandchronicles.wordpress.com/
Have any of you noticed how much bullying exists among us in the WLS community? I'm not necessarily referring to those of us in blogland--in fact, I've never felt bullied or anything other than the most support here in my little blog world. But in other parts of the WLS community I've experienced a lot of "my surgery is better than yours" comments and a lot of size comparison. It's something that I first experienced when I tried a local WLS meetup. I was the only person with a lapband at the group and it was then that I decided I would never go back. Now that I'm revised, I still disagree with it. I would NEVER put someone down because they made a different decision than me. Even with all my trouble with the band, I would never tell someone that they were making the wrong choice. Your body, your choice. So, what's sparked this topic of discussion, you might wonder? Well, last month I went on a trip to meet several VSG sisters from instagra...
I was so upset yesterday that I couldn't really form my post into a comprehensive blog, so you got the succinct ten points. But I went home, wallowed in my misery, ate pizza, ice cream, and cried, and now I'm a little better. At least better enough to explain what all happened at my appointment yesterday. So my lovely PA, Erica comes in first to give me warning about what is about to happen with Dr. Y. I guess I haven't made any secret about the fact that I prefer her presence to him anyday, on my blog, in the office, or otherwise. I guess they thought hearing it from her first would soften the blow. RNY So Dr. Y comes in and right away begins telling me why he wants me to have RNY surgery (gastric bypass) instead of VSG (the sleeve). He keeps going on and on about how we might as well knock it out of the park and get it right the second time around instead of needing a third surgery. I couldn't take it anymore when he said "I just don...
I've been craving a burger. Not just any burger. A CHAR GRILL burger. Char Grill is a local NC burger joint that used to only be in Raleigh, but now there are several other locations in Cary and Chapel Hill. The one in Chapel Hill is my own personal hell , because it is SOOOO close to my work. I drive by and smell the lovely scent of grilling....EVERY...SINGLE...DAY. So today I finally went and ordered a Jr. Cheeseburger, no bun. This is what I got: A cheeseburger? Or a salad? Anyway, I was slightly amused by how much lettuce is "on" my burger. Coincidentally, I know my taste buds have changed...because this was not as delicious as I imagined it would be.
Oh goodness, that is striking! Congratulations!
